Hey

So we are back in Sin City! This time, Neil has come along to join in on the fun!

MGM Grand

We stayed at the MGM this time. The casino part is huge and super nice, but the room was slightly disappointing in comparison. It was still big and clean, but compared to the other hotels we’ve stayed in before, it wasn’t as nice. We were in the old wing, so that might explain it. The pool area is really nice and there’s even a lazy river but you have to bring your own float. You can buy them on site, but they cost around $20.

Absinthe

One of the shows we watched was Absinthe, which is situated outside Ceasars Palace. This show is for 18+ and it is one of the best that we’ve seen in Vegas. It is funny, entertaining and impressive. There are acrobats, gymnasts, comedians and some eye candy! The venue is also a lot smaller when compared to some of the other shows, which it makes it a lot more intimate. It also means that all seats have a great view.

Drais Beach Club

We decided to go to Drais (The Cromwell) for a bit of sun and pool time. It wasn’t a ‘poo’l party’ as such as there was no special DJ/event, but it meant that we could get a bed for super cheap. It was still fun and it meant there was a lot of room too. Unfortunately, there was a power outage because of a car accident so it cut the party short. We had had enough sun by then, so it wasn’t a big deal.

Xterious Escape Room

We decided to do an escape room and Xterious was super close (just behind the strip) and we also got a deal on Groupon for it. It was a fun room and we did manage to get out with plenty of time to spare!

Shark Reef Aquarium

We decided to visit the Shark Reef at  Mandalay Bay Resort. Tickets were $25 each. It’s an OK sized aquarium and there were plenty of sharks, turtles and other sea creatures to see, but it’s definitely not something that gives you the wow factor (relatively small for Vegas standards). The ticket also allows you to enter the ‘Polar experience’. This is really not worth it unless you have super young children.

Hakkasan

We attempted to be young and attended a club night. We headed to Hakkasan which is in the MGM Grand. DJ Zedd was the main dude that night and he came on around 1 am. We paid for VIP tickets, which meant we could skip the line and also have $100 each to spend at the bar. Drink prices were reasonable and super strong!

Le Rêve – The Dream

A story of love and passion as depicted by gymnasts, acrobats, synchronized swimmers, and dancers. Another great show in a smaller setting. The production of Le Rêve was extremely impressive. It was also really cool to see a mix of different creative genres and it helps set this show apart from many other shows in Vegas.

Food

And this is what we ate!

We are back in Vegas next month to see a certain boyband, but now we are off to DISNEY! I’m so excited! See you in Florida!
