Our last day in Orlando and we decided to chill at Universal Studios. The queues were slightly longer here, but overall it wasn’t too bad.
Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket
The best ride in this park, an epic rollercoaster which reaches 167 feet and shoots you off at 65mph! You can also choose your own song to listen too!
Shrek 4D
An oldie but a goodie! Another theatre type show, but the effects and the characters are well developed. Pretty enjoyable all round!
Fast & Furious Supercharged
This was quite disappointing. It’s essentially just a bus ride with some action screens. It’s another 4D motion attraction, but it hasn’t even been done well! Skip!
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
This was the longest queue and we had to wait about 2 hours! The ride was good, but we preferred the other ride at the Islands of Adventure more. Nevertheless, still a fun ride. The actual world is really cool though and the wands are truly magical. Try them at the shop windows!
Fear Factor Live
This was a nice refreshing change to the other attractions here. Based on the popular TV show, members of the public sign up and volunteer to participate. They have an eating challenge, a creepy crawly challenge and a competition between 4 competitors where they compete in a variety of tasks. It’s essentially a condensed version of the show and it’s pretty good.
Men in Black Alien Attack
This is another attraction which has been around for quite some time. It is still fun though as you board a car and shoot aliens!
The Simpsons Ride
Another disappointing 4D ride. It’s such a shame as the outside where you wait looks awesome. They really should have done something better with all that space!
It’s been a fantastic 10 days of rides and shows, but it’s unfortunate that all theme parks seem to be going down the route of ‘virtual rides’ rather than the traditional roller coasters. #bringbacktherollercoaster
We are off to Tampa now to meet some old friends from our Safari!
