As we continued our way across Canada with Toronto in our sights, next stop was Edmonton, the capital of Canada’s Alberta province.
At this point of the journey, we were managing the budget closely, so decided to hop on a bus from Calgary, through to Edmonton – it took us about 4 hours, which wasn’t bad at all.
What did we do?
Edmonton wasn’t somewhere we’d planned as a must-see so planned it more as a stop over, and a way to spend a few more days in a cheaper area. It has West Edmonton Mall which is the largest shopping mall in North America – but since we’ve already been to the Dubai Mall (H.U.G.E) we decided to skip seeing this mall (plus, it was a few miles out from the centre where we were staying).
Instead, we relaxed some more. Did some more work and caught a couple of movies at the Cinema (butter on your popcorn? What?).
We went for an Indian Curry on our first night, at a highly recommended place. It was incredibly well designed on the inside, with open fire pits and a really nice atmosphere. The beers were large “Taj Mahal” beers (650ml) so Mike was happy.
We’re not here for long, so get ready as we take our flight to Toronto. See you there.
