สวัสดี ครับ
As we were flying out from the capital, we decided to spend an extra few days here before we left Thailand. Wendy has been to Bangkok several times before, but it was the first time for Mike. A lot of people love Bangkok but for these 2 they weren’t that bothered. They feel that other parts of Thailand have much more to offer!
Nevertheless, it gave them a bit of time to catch up on work and to just chill out. There are a lot of things to see in Bangkok such as The Grand Palace, but its very similar to the Royal Palace in Cambodia so they didn’t bother going. After spending a few months in Chiang Mai last year, they were also templed out so did not see any Wats.
Khao San Road
So the only touristy thing they really did is visit Khao San Road. It’s the famous walking street for travellers and is filled with bars, restaurants, market stalls and massage parlours. It’s a nice place to spend evenings as there’s something for everyone and prices are reasonable.
El Gaucho
As these kids had just finished their 3-week stint in Muay Thai, they thought they deserved a reward meal. Of course, there’s only 1 type of date night…steak night. We decided on El Gaucho as it had some good reviews and the prices were very reasonable (for western standards). Overall these 2 foodies enjoyed themselves. It wasn’t the best steak they’ve ever had, but it sure did a good job!
Right we are off to India next, see you all in Jaipur!
